Today we’d like to introduce you to Emma Kelleher.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out as an open-minded woman going to massage school. This was the foundation to my eclectic mix of modalities that include creative & intentional wellness practices. I started adding singing bowls to my massage practice and dove down the rabbit hole of sound for the last 6 years, adding instruments and new formed knowledge into my sessions. With the collection of instruments and my yoga background I started holding group sound healing sessions. Today my practice includes all of my studies in massage, reiki, Acutonics sound healing & yoga.
As an herbalist and a crafter, I have a whole other part of my business that includes herbal remedies & intentional jewelry. Ever since I can remember I have loved to create. I pour my heart into each remedy & piece that I produce. One of my favorite styles of jewelry in my collection are; Windows to the Soul. They are little window boxes that I custom make, filled with herbs & stones with an option for the customer to add ashes from a loved one. This makes for such a special way to honor our loved ones who have passed on.
I have so many facets that I combine into one business to truly create a wellness offering to any individual.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As an entrepreneur, opening up my own business and figuring out the best way to offer all that I do was tough. For a long time, I worked at a spa to get by, renting spaces for a day or so a week to build my own clientele so it would be possible to offer the services that I was so passionate about. This was a very slow process but today I am so happy to say that I work 100% for myself in my own space offering a wonderful mix of Massage, Sound Healing and Energy Work.
As a creator I always considered my product side a hobby. Working out of a tiny shed in the back of my house, I attempted to make enough intentional pieces of jewelry to apply for art shows. Over time I began to be accepted into art fairs like Jackalope & Sweet Williams in Denver. After moving from our home; and work space I had to close up shop for 2 years while everything was in storage. Last year we finally moved into our forever home and I build my studio back up. I currently have been filled with custom work.
With my father’s passing last year and COVID 19 there was an obvious shift in my life and work. I am so grateful for my local clients that continue to support my practice & work as an artist.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Crafting the Elements, LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is centered around creative & intentional wellness. As an artist & a therapist I have combined all my passions into one. My private practice includes Massage & Acutonics Sound Therapy, Reiki & Ashiatsu. Many clients come for a combination of my modalities, truly offering an experience that is unlike anywhere else in the area. Clients can also browse my herbal remedies at my office. Outside of my private practice I hold space for group sound healings in home or workshops at the local yoga studios.
As an artist I stand out from other jewelers by the elements I use in my business. My jewelry is created out of wood & stone that brings a natural feel to each piece. I absolutely love creating custom Windows to the Soul to honor loved ones that have passed. These are such special pieces of jewelry for clients and each one is unique.
I love the aspect of sound in all that I do, each session & piece that I create is infused with sound vibration!
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe that there have been so many things that have put me in the right place to meet the right people. Whether that obstacles or avenues I always seemed to be gifted opportunities. Finding a space in Breckenridge, CO to start a private practice has constantly been a struggle, having places sell out from under your feet to the raise of rent, to the limited amount of people in a space. Looking back at each of these moments I have realize that each was to put me where I am today!
