Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Miller.
Lauren, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Ever since I was a little girl, I always was obsessed with hair and makeup. I was always doing my own hair and all my friend’s hair growing up. As I got older, I developed a passion for taking care of people and specifically making women feel beautiful. I decided to graduate high school early as a junior to follow my dreams of becoming a hair stylist.
I started school right away at the Aveda Institute in Denver. I learned so much in my short time there, and my passion only grew for this amazing industry! While overcoming some of my own insecurities, I became even more sensitive to the many that we as women face in this culture. This awareness only made me more excited to jump into my new career as a stylist.
After graduating from cosmetology school, I started as an apprentice stylist at one of the top salons in Colorado. I was challenged to be my best by my amazing mentors. I worked late nights and long days to build my clientele and worked my way up in the salon. After working there for a couple of years, I was able to seek out an incredible opportunity to partner with some of my mentors and start our own salon as an extension of a high-end Medical Spa in Fort Collins. In December 2018, we opened the doors of Facette the Hair Experience as a luxury boutique salon.
Has it been a smooth road?
I truly believe nothing worth having comes easy. It has taken a lot of long hours, hard work and doing things differently than most people my age. I have had to grow up very quickly, but I feel fortunate I knew what I wanted to do from a young age. I love my unique journey, the people I’ve met and the excitement of being apart of something that is so much bigger than myself.

Facette started as a full-service medical spa offering a broad spectrum of skin care, injectable treatments, laser rejuvenation procedures, and Colorado’s only Lightstim LED bed. Less than a year later, we expanded and opened Facette the Hair Experience. Our next-generation salon offers innovative haircuts and styling, custom color options, luxurious hair extensions, makeup applications and more. Both sides of the company partner together to create a unique luxury experience for our guests to come to get all of their beauty needs to be met in one location in Fort Collins. We have some of the top stylists and providers, with decades of combined experience in their respective fields. We highly value continued education and staying up on the latest advancements within the industry. At Facette, our mission is “Total Beauty, Total Wellness” and we pride ourselves on creating customized treatment plans to help our guest’s outer beauty radiate the inner beauty they already possess.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I am a Colorado girl through and through. I love the way we value small business and support one another to make our state and communities a better place. I think it’s so important to support other businesses.
