Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Renee.
Michelle, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started creating websites in the year 2000, when they were just starting to become more popular. In 2009 I was noticing that a lot of business owners were still without a website, which surprised me! I did some digging and I learned that this was because many of them felt overwhelmed with the process and the potential cost. That was when I decided to offer a solution that would keep things easy and affordable for the average small business owner… and they loved it!
We all wear a lot of hats when starting up a new business and money can be tight. That’s why my mission is focused on delivering professional websites at a fraction of the cost – it is simply my gift to the business community. I use my talents and expertise to guide them through the process, to avoid feeling overwhelmed. The end result is a beautiful, professional website that did not cost them thousands of dollars.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
At this stage of my business, things seem to be really dialed in but it took a few years to get to this point. In the beginning, I named my business My1PageWebsite.com – and at first only offered simple, 1-page websites that keep messaging to a minimum (very important in this fast-paced time we live in) and they have been a real hit! However, there were still businesses that needed more than one page, so I rebranded in 2015 with a new business name, Streamlined Business Solutions. At the time it felt like I was starting over from scratch with my marketing… and that felt like a bit of a setback.
But I am happy to say that the word continues to spread about my affordable approach to web design… even reaching clients as far away as Australia!
Please tell us about your business.
I like to tell business owners who think they cannot afford a website that the LAST thing they should do is try to build it themselves. My motto is: “Don’t spend your time building a website when you should be focused on building your business!”
One of the biggest complaints I hear about is when a business owner decides to use a “friend or neighbor or college kid” to build their website (to save money) but now they cannot get a hold of that person to make updates because that person has gotten on with their life. That is not the case with my company; I have been building websites for 20 years, which means this is not a “hobby” for me – my company will be here to support my client’s website needs for years to come.
What I am most proud of is that I have created a solution that delivers a critical piece of business marketing, while saving time and money in the process.

I am glad you asked, I would love to give a shout-out to those that helped along the way… For one, I tapped into the resources at SCORE Denver. They have mentors who took a look at my business model and told me if they saw any red flags. They guided me with decisions around forming my business entity, as well.
I also want to thank the Colorado Enterprise Fund for helping me out with a business loan and providing even more guidance and support. Their team of advisers loved hearing about my affordable approach and continue to send me referrals!
I am also blessed to have two entrepreneurial parents who have guided me with their expertise and experience. And I cannot forget to thank the generous Boulder business community for embracing me and sending me clients in need of an affordable website.
