Meet Zach Wurth and Brynn Lay of Wurth Chiropractic in Erie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zach Wurth and Brynn Lay.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Zach and Brynn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We met each other on their orientation day of graduate school together at Palmer College.

We began dating early on in school and began to make plans to open a clinic together. We were fortunate to have internships at Ault Chiropractic in Hudson, OH their last trimester of school to observe more patient care and learn more about owning and managing a chiropractic clinic.

We visited Erie in the Spring of 2019 and immediately fell in love with its small-town charm. After visits to Rose Cafe, Charmed 33 Boutique and Cristo’s Coffee (we love you too, FoxDog!), we knew this place could eventually become our home!

Shortly after graduation in October of 2019 from Palmer College of Chiropractic, they moved out to the Erie area to begin working on the formation of Wurth Chiropractic! They got engaged shortly after moving out to Colorado and cannot wait to begin their lives together and grow with the community of Erie.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It is funny because we like to think that we have a very thorough business plan (thanks, Dr. Ault!), and we put in different reasons as to why we could potentially fail as a business.

Ironically, nowhere in that plan did we include a pandemic that would drastically affect small businesses.

Our primary marketing strategies were affected because of the pandemic, so we have needed to find ways to adapt to reach potential patients. We think our ability to adapt has positioned us well to help survive this pandemic.

Nonetheless, we have enjoyed our first month in our clinic, and are already starting to see some great results with our patients!

Please tell us about Wurth Chiropractic.
Our clinic was created to help bring a human value to healthcare. Many times, patients can feel unheard or even betrayed in today’s healthcare model.

We wanted to create a space that had more feels of a coffee shop than a healthcare office; one where you can voice your concerns and know that you are being heard.

While we may not serve up your favorite caffeinated drinks, we do offer a variety of services and tools to help take care of things like back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other joint-related issues.

Many people know that chiropractors are great for helping those sorts of ailments, but things like shoulder, knee and hip issues are among the most common complaints in our office!

Our primary service is spinal manipulation or adjustments! These adjustments help to improve mobility of spinal joints as well as help decrease pain and improve your quality of function. We utilize a variety of other modalities like cupping, mechanical massage, kinesiotaping & more! We also send every patient home with some exercises to help promote self-management of your condition!

Financial transparency is something we take a great deal of pride in. We want our patients to know what they’re paying every visit. No contracts, no up-front costs for long term treatment plans. We make sure your care isn’t cookie cutter and unique to your condition. We are also proud of being patient-centered and evidence-informed practitioners!

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
While the ability to predict pandemics would have been a wonderful trait to have, we really wouldn’t ‘change anything about the clinic or ourselves as doctors.

One area we are always looking to improve is patient communication and our technique skills! We are young & hungry, so we take great pride in our care!

We will adapt to new services and techniques will always be on our radar to ensure we are providing the most effective care possible.

Updates to the clinic will occur as time continues on!
